OUR INVESTMENT PHILOSOPHY

Oak Financial Group, Inc. is a Connecticut based, fee-only investment advisory firm registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

We manage client assets without charging commissions so there is never a conflict of interest.

By charging an annual fee, we become directly aligned with our client's best interest.

Our ideal client is someone who is interested in return-of-principal, as well as return-on-principal; and is more concerned about protecting their downside, than fully participating in the stock market should it soar.

Oak Financial Group, Inc. manages investment portfolios with the objective of long-term growth of capital combined with an income component. Our strategy is based on three components: (1) preservation of principal, (2) long-term growth, and (3) tax efficient portfolios.

Our approach is to assemble a team of proven equity mutual fund managers and combine their expertise with our fixed income experience; as well as add an individual equity component if requested by the client.

The individual equity component is based on what we classify as black & blue chips; equities that have been beaten down and currently out of favor on Wall Street.

The fixed income component is based on managing the four major risks to a portfolio.

  • Credit Risk
  • Interest Rate Risk
  • Reinvestment Risk
  • Income Tax Risk
  • Traits we look for in mutual fund managers are:

  • There is no load to the client.
  • The manager must have a minimum of 5-year record.
  • The manager has a substantial amount of their own net worth invested in the fund.
  • The manager either takes less risk than the index and matches the returns, or takes the same risk as     the indexes, vastly outperforming the indexes.
  • The manager has a compelling sell discipline.
  • We implement our strategy based on information we gather during our first meeting with the client, to determine their short and long-term goals, as well as risk tolerance. There is never any cost associated with meeting with a potential client, or preparing a plan.

We will regularly consult with our clients to educate them about our investment philosophy, to advise them of any portfolio adjustments, and to be sure that their individual risk level has not changed.

Feel free to contact Oak Financial for additional information on the firm including our current brochure.
